Over the course of the semester instructor Hamlett Dobbins used Lynda Barry’s “students make one index card sized self-portrait at the beginning of every class” project. Near the end of the semester students were given the 20 or so self-portraits and told that they needed to use them in an additive stop motion animation. It had to be ten frames per second and thirty seconds long and had to incorporate at least two of their self-portraits.
