Gail Anderson Designer ProfileYear:
From Daria Davis:
“As an assignment for my Grad Class, I was instructed to create a designer profile and diagram of a famous graphic designer’s work. I chose Gail Anderson, an African-American graphic designer whose love of typography, found objects and collaborative spirit can be found in everything she does
The designer profile booklet design consists of actual found objects placed and layered to create a montage representative of the many things found around the home or within creative spaces. (i.e. postit notes, scissors, markers, sd cards) A handwritten font is used in certain areas to continue the idea of incorporating hand drawn elements in designs as evidenced in Anderson’s work.
Hand drawn elements are also used to create the diagram that conveys how I perceived Anderson’s design process, through listening, reading, and watching many interviews, articles and YouTube videos about Gail Anderson.”
